It’s not too late to book an order!

It’s definitely not too late to get in another small landscaping project this fall, especially with the lovely forecast ahead. It’s amazing what you can do in a small space and with a bit of dirt and rock. You can literally change your drab, dry patch of grass to an attractive feature area in as much as a morning’s work.

This photo shows just how little you would need to create a stone feature in the front of your home with just 1 yard of 40mm of rundle rock and 1.5 yards of rec concrete.

Our garden/landscape supplies and materials are available for pickup or can be dropped off at your convenience without social contact.

DIY Fall Lawn Care

The best way to ensure you have a healthy and beautiful lawn next spring is to do your maintenance now! When it comes to lawn care fall is the time to fertilize, and even re-sod, if you want to start from scratch! The weather is cooler and the grass has time to put down strong roots for winter.

Calgary Landscape Supplies has plenty of product on hand and the expertise to recommend all the necessary steps to a lawn you’ll love in the spring!

Your garden/landscape supplies and materials can be dropped off at your convenience without social contact.

If you decide to sod/re-sod and you’re not 100% sure how much sod your project requires, please experiment with our material calculator or simply give us a shout. Sod is normally sold by the square foot. Tip: you may want to add a few additional feet just in case you have a few corners to cut.

Landscape plans for the fall?

Cooler temperatures put less stress on your plants, shrubs and trees and give them a better chance of taking root. It is also a great time to buy new plants and greenery as most nurseries have reduced their pricing.

Assuming the smoke from the wildfires along the US west coast clears, next week the weather is forecast to warm up to the low 20’s, the perfect time to finish any landscaping projects you started before before all the smoke and cooler temps. If you need any supplies get in touch. We are committed to providing our clients with high quality products at the best prices in town and still have lots of stock on hand.

Early fall fertilizing

Repair and thicken up in the fall after going through the stresses of summer

Having your lawn fertilized late in the fall can actually help encourage a healthy spring lawn. Our lawns are in constant need of care even when they are dormant. Fertilizing in late fall will provide nutrients to the grass over the wintertime. These nutrients activate immediately in the spring helping the lawn grow quickly out of dormancy.

Not only that, wintertime also brings some lawn diseases such as snow mold, fairy ring and necrotic ring spot. Fertilizing in the fall will usually prevent these from invading your lawn.
