September Landscaping Wrap-up

Hard to believe we’re at the end of another summer season already – seems time’s flying by at breakneck pace. That said, despite this weekend’s unwelcome snow, there’s still a couple of months to get the last of your landscaping tasks finished up for the year.

Cooler temperatures puts less stress on your plants, shrubs and trees and it gives them a better chance of taking root. It is also a great time to buy new plants and greenery as most nurseries have reduced their pricing.

For the next week or so the weather will be nice and warm – perfect for finishing up the last of your yard-work clean up, and if you’re ahead of the game, it’s a good time to start making plans for next year’s projects.

If you have a great idea, but don’t know what you’ll need to make it come to life in the spring, give us a call at 403-818-5857. We’d be happy to discuss options for making amazing landscaping improvements to your property.

p.s. If you need supplies to wrap up this year’s projects, don’t hesitate to call. We still have stock on hand : )

Should we fertilize in the the fall? YES!!

It’s still not too late to fertilize your lawn before the colder weather arrives.

Having your lawn fertilized late in the fall can actually help encourage a healthy spring lawn. Our lawns are in constant need of care even when they are dormant. Fertilizing in late fall will provide nutrients to the grass over the wintertime. These nutrients activate immediately in the spring helping the lawn grow quickly out of dormancy.

Not only that, wintertime also brings some lawn diseases such as snow mold, fairy ring and necrotic ring spot. Fertilizing in the fall will usually prevent these from invading your lawn.

Here are some fall fertilization tips to promote a healthy landscape next spring.
