Having your lawn fertilized in the fall can actually help encourage a healthy spring lawn in the upcoming year. Our lawns are in constant need of care even when they are dormant. Fertilizing in fall will provide nutrients to the grass over the wintertime. These nutrients activate immediately in the spring helping the lawn grow quickly out of dormancy.
Not only that, wintertime also brings some lawn diseases such as snow mold, fairy ring and necrotic ring spot. Fertilizing in the fall will usually prevent these from invading your lawn.

To build a safe and functional fire pit you first have to consider your surroundings.
Too often local fire pits and smaller backyard fire places and fire features are placed within areas where the chance of something other than what is in the fireplace or pit can become ignited.
This twenty foot fire pit area was created by Calgary Landscape supplies with a 10mm aggregate base to mitigate the chance of embers igniting nearby flammables.

Property erosion leading to improper grading can be caused by leaking eaves that promote soil erosion, weather conditions such as heavy winds and rain or for it just not having been done correctly in the first place.
Proper regrading should be handled by an expert to make sure that soil does not come in contact with siding or any wood they may surround the house. There should be a minimum of four inches of your foundation (concrete, block, or stone) showing above the soil.
